...so her story started yesterday...if you don't want the details scroll to the pictures...
August 18 (9:00 am) I went to the drs. and was dilated to a 3, 80% and still a -2 (baby is nice and high) the dr said I could go back to walking and so I did, but only lasted about 10 mins. Things are getting nice and uncomfortable.
I continued to have off and on cramping and tried to time them, but they were still so far apart and irregular that I kept forgetting.
6:00 pm it changed from cramping to more contraction like pains, but they were still 12-16 mins apart and I was pretty sure I would go to sleep pregnant and wake up pregnant still because they just weren't anything to write home about. We ate dinner, sent the kids to bed and I realized I was still having them.
8:30 they were 10 mins apart but would last only seconds to 30 seconds long. A little uncomfortable.
9:30 they started to get a little more uncomfortable and lasted 1-1.5 mins and still around 10 mins apart, but rather inconsistent. It was definitely more a "Jacey" labor as in they were mostly in the back :(
10:25 I text my babysitter (an awesome young woman in our ward) that tonight might be the night and to keep her phone handy. I still felt like I would go to bed and things would start happening in the middle of the night, after all my water had not broken yet. (I did loose my plug-which I don't remember ever happening before)
10:38 I sent the following text "alright, we aren't waiting 30 mins. No big rush to come, but yeah, COME please!"
10:50 we hit the road cx were 5-6 mins apart and I needed to breath through them, the start of active labor. The song "Raging Fire" was playing...that song has been a favorite and now has a whole new meaning to me except I sing "Ring of Fire" :)
11:25 We got to the hospital and checked into LD they were a consistent 4 mins apart and very uncomfortable. I walked to L&D still thinking they would send me home...waters still hadn't broken like they did with Skye and Colt. The nurse set me up and checked me. I was 6 cm, 100% and babe had dropped. She got my history I was very sure to tell her how quick my babies come. She went and called the dr., she was not in the mood to deliver the babe herself. (after thinking about it, I think she might have been the same nurse that held Colt in until the dr. got there with no time to change)
00:00-ish the dr, came in and broke my water and said he wasn't going anywhere. I was 8 cm.
00:40-ish I felt like I needed to do something not really an urge to push, just feeling antsy. The dr said that I was hanging on by a thread and that by pushing I might push past it. Sure enough one push and the fire started...you were warned there would be details ;)
00:50 my perfect little baby girl was born weighing 6 lbs even and 17.75 inches long. We were once again IN LOVE!
 |
| Greg caught some shut eye, but I was so wired on adrenaline that I chose to shower (one of the perks of no epidural) and laid awake holding my baby girl for the rest of the night. |
 |
| Greg went to get the kids around 7:00 and I wish he would have had his camera on when the kids were walking down the hall. They were all excited, but Colt was giddy excited rubbing his hands together and his smile never faltered. |
 |
| the kids helped name her Breelynn and she quickly had the nickname Bree-Bee...look at those cheeks! |
 |
| They were ALL in LOVE! |
 |
| I can't tell you how awesome I felt, maybe I had adrenaline still pumping through me, but I was up and ready to go home by lunch time. |
 |
| Bree's fill in dr made us stay 18 hours, but at 7:00 pm the same day she was born we busted out of there, thanks to the help of some awesome nurses (namely the one that had helped deliver her). She spent her first night at HOME! |
