More Jacey...

...but since her posts are pretty sparse with her being at school all day I didn't think anyone would mind seeing her cute face again. I was getting ready for my photo class and wanted to get some specific shots to show and she was my willing subject (well after I bribed her with a different hat and a treat tomorrow).

After we took the pictures she was doing her homework of which she was supposed to read a story as fast as she could in one min. From the time she started to learn to read she has read very well for her age and today I learned that she not only reads perfectly she also reads very fast! She reads 179 words per min. To compare I read it and only got 220-and I don't consider myself a slow reader. WOW! She is supposed to read it 3 times and after the second time I decided I better watch and make sure she wasn't leaving out lines just to get a faster score...dumb me...HELLO she just got an award for honesty and of course she was not cheating she just really is that fast.

So I bought 4 new hats and I have to say they make me happy! and it helps me get my kids outside for pictures so even better!

Honest As Abe...

...is our little Miss Jacey named "Student of the Month" because of her honesty {being truthful and just}. As Jacey's mom I can vouch for her. She really is very honest and never gives me reason to doubt her. Even when she might do something she shouldn't she is always brave enough to admit it. So proud of you Jace-you ROCK!

The Blue Team Wins...

...and I doubt me announcing on my blog that Mr. Obama is our new president is news to any of you. Not the outcome I was hoping for, but I try to find good in all situations and I will keep optimism in my home. I have hope that he will be just what this country needs and if he is not hopefully we Americans will not sit back and watch.

I am VERY annoyed with what Jacey was taught at school yesterday, but it actually proved to be a good teaching opportunity for us as parents. Just because our President thinks it is okay, we do not have to agree or change our beliefs because of it and that is what is so great about this country.

So on another note...(I really am not a fan of politics and you all should be amazed that I wrote as much as I did)...
tonight is class #3 and I am excited for a night out with my girlfriends!
Last weeks assignment was to use a single continuous lighting unit with reflectors and create some still life images...I wonder if he really meant still life this time...
So here is what I learned from this assignment.
I am not nor will I ever be a huge fan of studio set ups. I much prefer using the good ol' natural light from the sun, but if worse came to worse I could do it if I had to-oh and if I had 2 assistants to help me.

Here are my images

Food for Thought...

"First, educate your hands and your minds. You belong to a church which espouses education...Get all the education you can. Train yourselves to make a contribution to the society in which you will live. There is an essence of the divine in the improvement of the mind."
